Symptoms of a lumbar disc herniation may include the following.

  • Dull or sharp pain from the lower back intensified by movement or activities such as bending, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Muscle spasms or cramping.
  • Sciatica. Which includes pain, burning, tingling, and numbness which extends from the buttock region into the leg or the foot.
  • Leg weakness or loss of leg function also are included.
