Vascular Treatment and Conditions

A vascular condition affects the flow of blood within the body; both in the arteries and the veins. When those arteries and veins have a reduction in their abiilty to transfer the blood to and from where it need to go, this is considered a vascular condition or disease.

Different vascular condition are treated by different specialist physicians. Most vascular conditions are treated by vascular surgeons. Atherosclerosis is a relatively common vascular condition treated by vascular surgeons.

Where the vascular condition affects the heart or the brain, you are normally treated by a cardiac surgeon or a neurosurgeon.
