Princeton Brain & Spine Care is proud to co-sponsor this upcoming Fasion Event in support of the Spinal Research Foundation. In this recent interview with organizer Shari Field-Goldberg you will learn about the origins and purpose of the event.
Dale: So how long have you been involved in the fashion industry and can you tell me a little about your background in it?
Shari: I’ve been working with clothing and retail for over 25 years.
D: And how did you come to first be involved with Princeton Brain and Spine?
Shari: Well I’ve been having back problems for over 25 years and I was connected with Dr. Shah, so it’s been almost 2 years now. He’s a miracle for me, and he’s just an amazing, amazing person.
D: And what did you think of the care you received from Dr. Shah and everyone else at Princeton Brain and Spine?
Shari: Every staff member is just fantastic in every step of the process. From reception all the way through therapy, they’re beautiful people. They’re kind and considerate and care about you. I’ve been dealing with doctors for over 25 years, and I’ve had some really negative experiences. I really believe Dr. Shah saved my life. He has a bedside manner which a lot of people do not have.
He doesn’t need my business, but I still recommend him and talk him up. I’ve probably sent him a dozen patients. He deserves it. He’s top notch and an amazing person.
D: Why did you choose to collaborate with the Spinal Research Foundation and Princeton Brain and Spine for this event?
Shari: When I told Dr. Shah I wanted to do a charity event he suggested SRF because I am a spinal patient. I have spinal stenosis, RSC, and severe arthritis. I’m pretty much losing the use of my legs and back, and my prognosis is not operable. To be able to give back to the community via awareness and to get the knowledge of Dr. Shah to Philly and Princeton is just amazing.
D: Can you give us a little bit of a sneak peak? What can people expect at your show?
Shari: Closetfull Boutique has amazing clothing, and when you hear the word “boutique” you don’t think you can afford it. You can go to Marshall’s and TJ Maxx and their clothing falls apart. She has clothing in the same price range up to the higher end that are beautiful and last longer. There are going to be designs for everyone there. Mother-daughter, mother-son, plus high-end models. There’s going to designs for guys, gals and moms. Luxababy and Child out of Princeton has beautiful clothing for children and babies and they’ll be there as well.
We’re going to have a Chinese auction, there will be a silent auction with really great gifts and prizes. From Princeton we have Olsson’s Fine Foods, a car mechanic, and gift certificates from Puppy Hut. Starbucks is setting up a booth for free coffee. Child 284 is donating food, beverage, and hors d’oeuvres, and there will be a cash bar with alcohol for drinks. It’s going to be a really nice time. Dr. Shah will be talking so people can be aware about what’s happening in spinal care.
People hear about bad things all the time, but all these people and businesses are giving without asking for any money, or anything in return. They’re doing all these services and donating to me, just a simply Jersey girl, out of the kindness of their heart. Everyone has been so beautiful and kind it will just be a really nice event. It goes to show that life doesn’t live off of fear, there are good things out there as well.
